Welcome

I am pleased to welcome you to the 2015 edition of our Valentine site.  Please accept our apology for this Valentine’s greeting being a week late.  We hope that you find it worth the wait.

Wow! This has been a crazy and busy year for the Trainors. Our biggest news is that we have moved from the old Trainor family homestead on Canterbury Lane to our stylish new digs on Jenna Road. This activity really dominated the year. Brooke spent months helping the family sift through twenty-two years of belongings and mementos in order to select the items that would make the move. Then, she packed those items into a very large number of boxes. More important, she bundled up the vast amount of stuff that would not fit and coordinated its donation to worthy causes.

We moved on the day after Thanksgiving. It was a bitterly cold and snowy day that began at 8:00 AM and ended at nearly 10:00 PM. While the stories of what went wrong could fill a book, it is probably best to focus on the positive: all of the people made it safely; the teddy bears made it safely; most of the furniture and appliances made it safely.

Brooke spent December and early January unpacking and setting up the house. This was accomplished with some significant help from Louise (Brooke’s mom) and Holly (Brooke’s youngest dog sister). As I sit here on Valentines Day, everything is in its place. We teddies are pleased to have been given a spot with a great view in the new master bedroom. Kevin is pleased to have a nice new office in which to do the home portion of his teaching work. And both Kevin and Brooke are both pleased to have a dedicated work-out and hobby room. I think I speak for the teddies and Kevin when I say that Brooke did an outstanding job of finding us a new place and making it a wonderful home.

Unfortunately, all of this came with a price for me in my role as Editor of the Valentine. Brooke and Kevin dumped a big pile of photos on my desk early last week and sheepishly asked me to do my best. After pulling an all-nighter or two, I believe we are finally ready to go to press.  Please excuse us if the photo that you were expecting is not posted here. I am sure that it is safely packed away in one of the boxes in our new basement.
